Marching for Food Safety, 1999, Carla Nemiroff, New Denver, British Columbia

Bovine growth hormone (BGH) is harmful to animals and humans. These demonstrators marched in the streets of Seattle against the use of BGH in American cattle. Their protest was in reaction to the World Trade Organization’s decision to heavily fine countries that ban the import of BGH meat.
